A history of Highfield CE Primary School was produced. The editors transcribed the original managers’ minutes from 1848 to 1862, when school log books became compulsory, and then the school log books from 1862 until 1989 when they ceased to be written. The early entries include the wording for the original advertisements for the school and the original school rules as well as details about the contract of employment the first head signed. Although they were unable to include everything, because there was just too much, they included photographs of samples of each head’s entries as well as copies of the architect’s plans for the many stages of the development of the school.
Information about the school today can be found on the their website.
