Baptismal record for St.James, Holloway on March 30th, 1842 records her parents as Mary Anne Grace Mayo and Herbert Mayo, of Islington. Profession was a Colonial Broker.

In the 1841 census, the family lived at Prospect Cottages, Finsbury in Islington. Herbert Mayo (b.1799), his wife Mary (b.1806) and their two children; Mary (b.1839) and Agnes (b.1840). Herbert was a Colonial Broker. They had 3 female servants.

In 1851, the family lived at 6, Devonshire Place, Haverslock Hill, St Johns parish, Hampstead. Their immediate neighbour was Eyre Evans Crowe, the editor of the Daily News, newspaper. Herbert (b.1799, London) was a Colonial Broker, his wife Mary A.G. (b.1806, Hull, Yorkshire) and his children Mary (b.1839, Islington), Agnes (b.1840, Islington), Constance (b.1842, Islington) and Anna (b.1845, Islington). Also there was his mother-in-law, Martha E Quin (b.1778, London) who was a widow and described as a fundholder. They had a visitor, a Swiss governess, Louisa Lozeren. They employed 5 live-in staff; a nursery governess and 4 domestic servants.

In the 1861 census, the family were living at Oak Hill Park, Hampstead. Herbert Mayo had retired and was a fundholder, receiving income as a proprietor of houses and holder of shares in public companies. Living with him were 3 of his daughters, Agnes, Martha and Anna. His wife was not present.
They had 3 housemaids and one cook.

In the 1871 census, the family lived at the same address of Oak Hill Park. Their income was described as coming from “houses, dividends, interest, estate in ?”. Present at the home were, Herbert, wife Mary and his daughters Mary, Agnes and Martha. Also present was step-daughter Clotilda Bayne (b.1866, Hartington), described as the daughter of an author (see Mayo family for further information). They had two visitors, Clara and Charlotte Sheppard of Hampstead. Three domestic servants were listed, including one cook.

Marriage recorded between Martha Constance Mayo and Ernest Frederick Joseph Porcelli, May 30th 1877, in the parish church of St. Marks in Marylebone. Ernest was in the Bengal Civil Service. The fathers were Salvador Porcelli of the Italian Army and Herbert Mayo, Gentleman. 
The witnesses were Charles Theodore Mayo and Agnes Matilda Mayo.

In the 1891 census, Martha Porcelli is shown living in The Lodge, Winn Road, Highfield in South Stoneham. Her husband was not present. She was living with her sister who was unmarried head of household and living by her own means. They had two domestic servants, one housemaid and a cook.
